Noisy Iguana!,,

Why does my iguana rad click & clunk when it heats up? It is waking me up 3or4 times during the night!

    Hello Phil,

    thank you for your question.

    The noise you are experiencing is likely to be due to epansion and contraction due to heating up and cooling down of the unit. The problem might be due to the Iguana not being hung correctly on the brackets or pipe work going to the units not being clipped or clamped down securely enough. When the thermostat is calling for more heat the unit heats up and then expands, this might mean that some of the metal is expanding and catching against another part, likewise once the room is up to temperature or the heating is turned off, the unit cools and then contracts, again, causing movement.

    As mentioned above, it might be pipe work expanding which has not been clipped down securely, this could be under the floor or from behind the wall and then the noise is travelling up the pipe into the product.

    it might be worth checking the brackets are secure or if there are any gaps visible in the first instance.
