It was fitted in 1999 and worked perfectly until last September, but it then developed a leak. My local plumber thought it was due to the valve, so he replaced the TRV. No problem for a couple of months. But now the leak has come back. He now thinks the leak is within the rad. but he cannot get the cover off! There are about 12 small screws but those near the window are inaccessible because of the glass. What do you suggest?
(We were very happy with the rad and would prefer to repair rather than replace.)

    Hello David,

Sorry to hear about your problem. You should be able to remove the complete unit by isolating the valve and then unbolting the unit from the floor. You then should be able to remove the screws and see if the leak is indeed coming from the heating element.

The link below gives you the option of downloading the fitting instructions which should help with removing the unit etc.

    I hope this helps.
