I'm installing a GSHP and want to know what radiators are suitable and how to calculate sizes for bedrooms and bathrooms. many thanks

    Hello Jan,

    Thank you for your question.

    If using a renewable heat source such as a GSHP etc you would probably be best off using some of our Jaga Strada units with DBE sets (dynamic boost effect fans - see link more info http://www.jaga.co.uk/products/wall-mounted/strada/ )

    Using the DBE units will help to reduce the size of the radiators due to the low flow and return temperatures.

    With regards to the heat loss for rooms, for an accurate calculation you could speak to a plumber or heating consultant. If you would like to do a rough guide then work out the volume of the room and depending on age and level of insulation multiply it by 45 watts per cubic M for new build / well insulated or 75 watts per cubic M for older buildings / poorer insulation or 100 watts for very old buildings with no insulation. Obviously these are just guides for initial heat loss calcs to find a starting point to get an idea of what is required.

    You could also have a look on the internet for a 'heat loss calculator' - these are fairly simple to use and you only need to input the basic information of each room without getting bogged down with too much science (u values etc).
