Refusing to compromise on safety, aesthetics, or performance, Kershaw Mechanical Services Ltd selected 1800 of Jaga’s Cocoon LST radiators for St Crispins retirement village, a £22million project on the edge of Northampton. As the European market leader in safe and sustainable heating, the specification of Jaga’s products was an obvious choice for this new development which comprises 258 new flats and apartments, 12 bungalows and a range of onsite leisure facilities. With its integrated Low-H2O technology, the Cocoon is an effective and efficient heating solution that offers the lowest running costs in the UK LST market.
The safety features of the Cocoon radiator meet all current health and safety legislation making it perfectly suited to retirement developments like St. Crispins or nursing homes, schools, and nurseries. With a reaction speed three times faster than a standard radiator, Jaga’s Low-H2O radiators respond faster to temperature fluctuations and provide maximum comfort yet minimum fuel consumption. The outer casing temperature of the radiator remains cool to touch, even at high flow temperatures, reducing the possibility of burns. In comparison standard radiators can reach a surface temperature of 75 degrees, which can cause partial thickness burns in one second and full thickness burns in less than 10 seconds.
Further safety features of the Cocoon include softly profiled corners to reduce the possibility of injury from falls onto the units. In addition, all valves and connections are safely incorporated inside the casing and the optional pencil-proof grille prevents fingers or objects from being inserted.
