Richmond Witney Retirement Village
Situated on the edge of the thriving, historic market town of Witney in Oxfordshire, Richmond Witney is a vibrant retirement living community with a winning combination of a highly desirable location, luxurious facilities, and security of lifestyle. This new development required a heating system that would fit with its “retire in style” ethos.

Richmond Witney is a development that includes both independent and assisted living apartments and a central care facility. Designed to offer owners a better quality of life in their later years, the development is a flagship for Richmond Villages, which operates a number of retirement villages around the UK and is a part of leading healthcare provider Bupa.
Building services consultants for the project, HC M&E, were tasked with finding a partner that could deliver a system that would combine effective heating output with a clean, contemporary look.
HC M&E had formed a strong working relationship with Jaga on previous projects so were the go-to manufacturer of choice. The engineers evaluated seven different radiator models before selecting the Jaga Strada. It met all design criteria; was energy-efficient due to Jaga’s Low-H2O technology inside; and was backed by an industry-leading 30-year warranty for future peace of mind.
With residential units marketed under the banner “Retire in Style”, Jaga Strada radiators with their designer look were chosen. A total of nearly 400 slimline, wall-mounted Jaga Strada radiators in a variety of sizes, complemented by Jaga valves, were installed in the sitting room, bedrooms and kitchens of all the one and two bedroomed independent living apartments.
Richmond Villages liked the Jaga Strada model for its aesthetics, and the fact that it allowed a compact radiator to be specified while still achieving the required heat outputs. Above all though, the safety and well-being of residents at Richmond Witney was prioritised and the fact that the Jaga Strada, although not a low surface temperature radiator as such, remains cool to touch at all times. This eliminates the risk of burns to elderly and vulnerable residents from accidental contact.
Jaga UK has worked on many other residential care home and village projects across the country, and as with many of these contracts, it was the quality of service offered by the company, as well as the product quality that stood out at Richmond Witney.
Multiple site visits and extensive planning was conducted from the outset with the consultant and appointed contractor to ensure the project was specified and installed correctly, saving considerable time and effort at later stages of the build.
Kevin Jones from HC M&E said: “From working together on previous projects, we knew all about the build quality and safety performance of the Jaga radiators. However, what really sets the company apart from other radiator manufacturers is the attention to detail and customer service throughout all stages of the project. In fact, the Jaga UK team possesses a strong customer service culture that is rarely matched in the building materials sector.”
